Godhra etc.

Politics and politicians are the two dirtiest words in our country. I suspect this notion is further strengthened with the release of the report of the interim committee headed by Justice Banerjee to probe the Godhra incident. The term of the panel was uptil March 3 but to leverage the gains which could accrue from the report, Laloo ensured that it was released just before Bihar assembly elections. By hook or crook, Laloo will manage to come back to power again in Bihar, a couple of reports on television about rival candidates of RJD being arrested on arbit charges were eye opening. Its no hidden fact that executive and judiciary have often bowed to their political masters, Laloo knows this pretty well.

Anyway the interim report has little legal validity as a criminal trial and a commission of inquiry is already on. All it can do is to rake up the issue once again and freshen up the old wounds. The best that media can do in this situation is to act responsibly, and avoid giving undue weightage to this 'interim' report.

You are absolutely right ankur , the politicians are the masters of the one art which is unique in nature and that art is putting the salt on the wounds of common people for there personal gains , and if the politicians are like Lalu , paswan, mayawati( U must have seen how mayawati celebrated her b'day 2-3 days back as "aarthik sahayta diwas" and made so much of black money in white by publicly collecting the money from so called party workers-how intelligent) then u are not required to even think that they will do any good for the nation. but i' ll tell you this phenomenon is almost same through out the world , considering the example , of what has happened today in austerlia here the Leader of oppositon of australian parliament " Mark Lathem " is forced to resign from active politics by his own party mens because of so called health reasons but the well known reason of his demise is the consequetive loss of Labour party in past two elections.
and i dont think our media will do any responsible job in this case also because they need hot stories for the public rather then responsible stories .

Yep,

I know how the politicians, the media and the entire system works. But goingby last night's coverage, even the electronic media was wary of taking sides. I'm sure no one believes Narendra Modi's versions but Laloo's version doesn't look too credible either. All we can be sure is that the truth of Godhra will never ever come out...
